Our History

BGFN, P. C. traces its origins in Temple to 1976, when Mike Brockway opened the Temple office for a Central Texas–based regional accounting firm. Leland Gersbach joined Mike in 1977, forming the nucleus from which the firm’s current tax practice evolved. In 1988, these partners acquired the local practice from the regional firm.

Mike Brockway and Leland Gersbach have since retired from the firm. In 1991, Stephen Niemeier became a shareholder and principal of the firm and served as lead audit partner and president until his passing in April 2025. In 2005, Cindy Franklin became a shareholder and principal and assumed the role of tax staff manager. Cindy is currently the acting president of BGFN, P. C.

In subsequent years, additional partners joined the firm, bringing a diverse range of skills and leadership experience. These partners include current tax partners Terri Marshall, Kerri Meier, and Heather Clark, and audit partners Adam Haberer and Daniel Jones.

Now, after more than 50 years, BGFN proudly employs over 30 staff members – all of who are passionate and dedicated to providing outstanding service for all clients.  We believe in a one firm approach – everything and everyone is important.

Over the years, BGFN has remained committed to providing outstanding quality accounting services in the Central Texas area including Temple, Belton, Killeen, Waco, Gatesville, Georgetown, Round Rock, Leander and more.
